Autumn is set to start in less than two weeks and we\u2019re ready for some cooler temperatures.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But just when we thought we could swap our sunscreen for light cardigans, the Bureau of Meteorology released their\u00a0climate outlook for the 2019 March to May period<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And friends, it\u2019s not what we hoped.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Instead of mild evening breezes it looks like we\u2019ll be getting more heat than we usually see at this time of year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Yep, the sticky nights and high aircon bills are set to continue.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the fancy looking map for you:\u00a0<\/p>\n

That\u2019s a lot of red.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Basically the graph shows that if you live in Mainland Australia there’s an 80 percent chance you’ll experience autumn temperatures that are significantly warmer than the average.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We can hear you asking, \u201cbut what is the average?\u201d<\/p>\n

The average daily maximum temperature for March sits at around the mid 20s for all major cities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the Sydney and the Central Coast region, it\u2019s around 24.8 degrees.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

In May, 19.5 degrees is the average – meaning we can expect days that should be 19 degrees to be sitting at 25 degrees.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The weather will also be dryer than usual, which is bad news for rural areas and farmers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

NSW is familiar with these kind of conditions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last year NSW had their second-warmest autumn on record. But something tells us 2019 might just steal that title.<\/p>\n
