{"id":1063,"date":"2019-02-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-02-24T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/uncategorized\/splash-pools-and-play-areas-10m-redevelopment-plans-gosford-waterfront-announced\/"},"modified":"2019-02-25T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2019-02-24T14:00:00","slug":"splash-pools-and-play-areas-10m-redevelopment-plans-gosford-waterfront-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/lifestyle\/splash-pools-and-play-areas-10m-redevelopment-plans-gosford-waterfront-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"Splash pools and play areas: $10m redevelopment plans for Gosford waterfront announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/b742d01c3585ff09b75699d982edd9aa.html\" width=\"606\" height=\"341\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Construction is expected to start within the year.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Gosford waterfront is set to get a massive facelift in the near future with new plans released yesterday showing a massive redevelopment of the area.<\/p>\n<p>The designs, which where unveiled by the Minister for Planning and Housing Anthony Roberts on Monday, show a $10 million transformation taking place on the land near Leagues Club Field near the Central Coast Leagues Club.<\/p>\n<p>The area will be transformed into a natural bushland setting with plenty play areas and water passages that will also act as splash pools for young children.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Roberts said the transformation would see the now-empty land become a \u201cnature-inspired place with water play and sensory experiences for all ages.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a strong focus on \u2018wild play\u2019 areas, where kids can splash around, get their hands dirty and explore a natural bushland setting,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/1a045a5b2879d506c122d464c0be39f5.html\" width=\"396\" height=\"223\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Roberts went on to says that the redevelopment is a massive step forward in the NSW Government\u2019s commitment to revitalise Gosford and the Central Coast, and would improve tourism in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is going to be the best place in NSW if not the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s announcement further demonstrates this Government\u2019s long-term commitment to Gosford, and our desire to keep the community engaged as part of delivering high quality outcomes that will help make this city a great destination for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/LCF-AerialView-1350x860-1.jpg\" alt=\"Leagues Club Field - Aerial view\" width=\"394\" height=\"251\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The designs were influenced heavily by feedback from a community survey completed last year, with Robert\u2019s confirming that many of the features were asked for by the people of the Central Coast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe detailed design will include things that the community told us they wanted to see, including dozens of new trees, open green space for people to continue to play footy or other casual spots, walkways, picnic areas, toilet amenities and lighting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The designs on public display and open for comment until 15th March.
