Swells are reaching up to 9ft.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Large and dangerous surf has caused Copacabana and Killcare beaches to be closed by Central Coast Council lifeguards, with nine foot swells being reported at both locations.<\/p>\n The beaches, which were closed by lifeguards this morning, are still being affected by the cyclone that sat off the coast of Queensland and Northern NSW late last week.<\/p>\n On Friday, six Central Coast beaches were closed due to the wild weather that moved down the coastline from the north. \u00a0<\/p>\n In a statement made last week, the Bureau of Meteorology said the Central Coast and surrounding regions could be affected by abnormally high tides, dangerous surf, and damaging winds as a result of the cyclone in the north.<\/p>\n Central Coast Council is reminding people to stay safe around the beaches as these conditions continue.<\/p>\n \u201cPlease be careful when around the water, listen to the advice from our lifeguards, and obey all signage and directions given.\u201d<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Written by Kate Stevens<\/p>\n Images: Unsplash<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Swells are reaching up to 9ft.\u00a0 Large and dangerous surf has caused Copacabana and Killcare beaches to be closed by Central Coast Council lifeguards, with nine foot swells being reported at both locations.
