Find the sleeping bags!\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>With so many great campgrounds on the Central Coast, we can sometimes struggle to look outside of the little paradise we\u2019ve got surrounding us. We can get caught up in heading to the Watagans in the north every winter, and Putty Beach in the south every summer.<\/p>\n<p>But, boy, have we got a place that will make you break out of that camping rut!<\/p>\n<p>About an hour\u2019s drive from Gosford is a stunning waterfront campground known as The Basin. Tucked away in the northern tip of Kuring-Gai Chase National Park, this beauty can only be reached by boat or a 2.8km walking track, making it a peaceful paradise shut off from the outside world.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/2019-01-22_11_49_17-christian_mazeneth_on_instagram_in_the_middle_of_nowhere_changing_your_routin.png\" width=\"393\" height=\"387\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Image: Instagram\/@ccmo7<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Situated on the banks of a small little cove in the Pittwater area, the waters of the Hawkesbury River flow calmly into this area creating a sheltered beach and an inland lagoon.<\/p>\n<p>The campsite is situated on a massive grassy area, and has all the facilities you\u2019ll need like toilets, showers, BBQ\u2019s and places to source fresh drinking water, making it an easy spot for families and easy-going travellers to pitch a tent.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/2019-01-22_11_50_06-the_basin_camping_ground_on_instagram_photos_and_videos.png\" width=\"393\" height=\"514\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Image: Instagram\/@carolinafi<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To get to the campground, the best option is to travel to Palm Beach and take the ferry across to The Basin Wharf.
