Most of us have heard of the law that you can get fined for going too slow on a freeway, however for most, it was something of a legend yet to be seen in real life.<\/p>\n

That is, up until now.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, the WA Police Traffic tweeted a photo of a fine that was issued to a driver for travelling 28km\/h below the speed limit on the freeway.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cDriving 28km\/h under the speed limit causes frustration which results in bad decisions which results in accidents. Can\u2019t do the limit – stay off the freeway!\u201d the photo was captioned.<\/p>\n

The driver was travelling on the Mitchell Freeway, where the speed limit is 100km\/h, meaning they would have had to have been driving 72km\/h on this section to receive the ticket. According to the fine, the driver was ordered to pay $50 for the offence.<\/p>\n

Fellow motorists rejoiced at the news commenting their support for the crackdown.<\/p>\n

\u201cYay, finally hope this is going to be the start of more to come,\u201d one Twitter user wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cSlow drivers cause people to take risks, which results in accidents,\u201d said another.<\/p>\n

In NSW, you cannot drive \u201cabnormally slowly\u201d and in a way that would \u201ccause an obstruction\u201d to the flow of traffic. If you add failing to keep left, a NSW driver could receive a $300+ fine and three demerit points.<\/p>\n
