{"id":134,"date":"2019-12-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-12-08T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/uncategorized\/nsw-bushfires-very-dangerous-day-nsw-hot-and-windy-conditions-sweep-state\/"},"modified":"2020-04-28T15:36:51","modified_gmt":"2020-04-28T05:36:51","slug":"nsw-bushfires-very-dangerous-day-nsw-hot-and-windy-conditions-sweep-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/lifestyle\/nsw-bushfires-very-dangerous-day-nsw-hot-and-windy-conditions-sweep-state\/","title":{"rendered":"NSW bushfires: \u2018A very dangerous day for NSW\u2019 as hot and windy conditions sweep the state"},"content":{"rendered":"Published: 10\/12\/2019 at 7.41am<\/em>\n\nThe NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) is gearing up for \u2018a very dangerous day\u2019 across New South Wales as dangerous weather conditions move across the region.\n\nTemperatures of up to 42 degrees along with hot and gusty winds are being predicted across the state, producing volatile conditions for an already intense bushfire situation.\n\nRFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons stated it would be a \u201cvery complex, very difficult\u201d day for firefighters, who are currently battling almost 100 bushfires in New South Wales.\n\nHe said hot and dry winds will lower humidity to less than 10% across many regions, resulting in a dangerously dry atmosphere.\n\n\u201cWe are going to see hot conditions and dry atmosphere, particularly dry air mass that bring this heat from the centre of Australia,\u201d he explained.\n\nHe also stated that although thunderstorm activity had been predicted for this afternoon, there would be little rain.\n\n\u201cNot a lot of moisture in it or rainfall, but that means a potential for lots of lightening,\u201d\n\nIn NSW today, nine areas will have total fire bans in place, and 2000+ firefighters and volunteers along with over 100 aircrafts would be fighting blazes across the state.\n\n\n\n\u201cAll fires\u2026 are going to be of concern to us, but there are some that are much closer and with greater potential to impact on more densely populated or highly populated areas,\u201d the commissioner stated.\n\nOne of the most dangerous fires in the state is the \u2018mega-fire\u2019 currently burning in the Central Coast and Hunter areas. The blaze, which was formed by five separate fires merging together, has burnt more than 450,00+ hectares, and continues to threaten much of the western Central Coast region.\n\n\n\nThe NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said in a statement yesterday that today would be a \u201cvery dangerous day for NSW\u201d and asked all residents to be vigilant during the bushfire season.\n\nTo report a fire emergency<\/strong>\n
