The steep trail follows a mountain ridge upwards into Dharug National Park, weaving past stunning landscapes with lush forest, trickling creeks and flourishing wild flowers. This heart-pumping trek can take anywhere from five to seven hours to complete, so make sure to start early and pack plenty of water! The 8.5km (17km if you\u2019re planning to do the return trip) mixed-terrain trail offers up spectacular ocean views as well as glimpses of hidden coves and secluded bays. A highlight of the walk is the spectacular rock formations and patterns formed by the areas constant exposure to rain. Bairne Walking Track runs along the eastern ridgelines of Ku-ring-gai National Park, and offers up some of the best views of the regions waterways from its two lookouts. It\u2019s northern lookout provides brilliant views of The Basin and the Pittwater river, while the southern outlook offers up spectacular visions of Towlers Bay. Part of the iconic bushwalk that runs from Sydney to Newcastle, this trail journeys through the northern section of the park where hikers will be treated to astonishing views from the nearby lookouts, lively birdlife, and amazing lush bushland.
