Two road workers have been seriously injured after a semi-trailer crashed into two stationary work vehicles on the M1 Pacific Motorway this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emergency services were called to the southbound lanes of the M1 at Alison at 3:45 am this morning after a semi-trailer crashed through a work zone and hit two stationary vehicles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both men suffered serious injuries and have been taken to hospital for further treatment. One man\u2019s condition is considered serious, the other is believed to be stable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The semi-trailer caught alight; the driver was able to free himself and escaped injury. He will be taken to the hospital for mandatory tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Contraflow conditions are now in place on the M1 Pacific Motorway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The southbound carriageway remains closed near the Alison Road overpass as investigations continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two southbound lanes are now available in the northbound carriageway. One northbound lane is also available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Traffic is heavy in both directions on the motorway, as well as on Hue Hue Road, Sparks Road, and the Pacific Highway through Wyong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Motorists should consider delaying their trip or allow plenty of extra travel time and follow the directions of emergency services and traffic crews. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
