The newly redeveloped BMX Track at Terrigal has officially opened, completing the last piece of the Duffy\u2019s Oval Recreation Precinct revitalisation project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project was officially opened by Central Coast Council and the NSW Government late last week, with works undertaking including reshaping jumps, asphalting berms and laying a synthetic surface on dirt sections. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the redevelopment, the track has been upgraded to Australian BMX Competition standards and it has also been made more accessible and functional \u2013 especially during adverse weather. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council Acting Director Community and Recreation Services, Phil Cantillon, says the upgrade will benefit the Terrigal community and visitors alike. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf you haven\u2019t seen the changes, I recommend you pop over and have a look. Not only has the redevelopment made a safer and more functional space for all, but it now also provides a more competitive facility for Terrigal BMX Club to stage training, competitions and bid for State events, which in turn will boost the local economy.\u201d\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
New Central Coast Council Administrator Rik Hart said Council will continue delivering projects the community has asked for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cProjects like this one are a great example of the NSW Government and Council working together to continue to deliver projects for the community that provide health and social benefits,\u201d Mr Hart said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
The BMX Track redevelopment was funded by a $300,00 grant from the NSW Government\u2019s Stronger Country Communities Fund<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
