Police have launched a full investigation into a dramatic police pursuit from Lisarow to Gosford overnight (June 8, 2021), which has caused a nightmare commute in Gosford this morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Toyota Corolla travelling at speed was spotted by officers along Mcdonalds Road, Lisarow around 1:40am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit occurred to Henry Parry Drive in Gosford where the car crashed into a power pole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The impact brought down powerlines and caused the vehicle to catch fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A man and two women managed to free themselves from the vehicle before they were all arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One woman was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital due to a pre-existing spinal injury and suspected fractured ankle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second woman was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for suspected internal injuries and a fractured arm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man was taken to Gosford Hospital with complaints of an injured ankle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Henry Parry Drive between Donnison Street and Georgiana Terrace remains closed with local diversions in-place due to the police operation, with bush in both directions diverting away from Henry Parry Drive via Mann Street. Motorists are being reminded to check Live Traffic<\/a> throughout the day for more information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n A former Bunnings Warehouse site in Belmont will become the second mass vaccination centre for New South Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The site along the Pacific Highway will be transformed into a COVID-19 vaccination hub over the next six weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the site will have the capacity to administer up to 20,000 jabs of both the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOur mass vaccination centre at Sydney Olympic Park has been a huge success, vaccinating more than 5,000 people a day already,\u201d Ms Berejiklian said, \u201cWe are planning to replicate that model in the Hunter region, so we can quickly and safely vaccinate as many people as possible across NSW.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s set to create job opportunities for the region with around 150 people employed in construction, before up to 100 nurses, 25 pharmacists and 200 other support staff are employed to work on-site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s expected to be running by mid-July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NDIS participants and carers are now eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s part of the Federal Government\u2019s next phase of the vaccine rollout which has been extended to people aged over 40, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders over the age of 16, NDIS participants and carers, and temporary VISA holders under the age of 50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines are available in the region.
