Snow chasers thinking of heading to the Barrington Tops to catch the snow are being urged to think again, with NSW police urging people to stay away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hunter Valley and Manning-Great Lakes Police are urging visitors to reconsider plans to travel to the area in the coming days as the Barrington Tops Forest Road remains closed as a result of flooding in March this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hunter Valley and Manning-Great Lakes Police are urging motorists not to use other, less frequently travelled road as there is an extreme safety risk as the roads are not designed to cope with a huge influx of vehicles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The roads will be slippery, icy and unsafe with the NSW Police Force urging show chasers to say away to avoid placing themselves and others in danger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hunter Valley and Manning-Great Lakes police said they will be constantly monitoring all conditions, with the potential for further road closures to occur rapidly and at short notice \u2013 the safety of the public and all road users is paramount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The plea from authorities comes as temperatures begin to plummet across the Central Coast from today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the good folk at the Bureau of Meteorology, there has been a mass of icy air swirling around the Southern Ocean near Antarctica which has pushed into Western Australia and South Australia and moved east into Victoria and NSW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The polar blast is expected to plunge temperatures across the Central Coast and bring with it gusty winds and some heavy downpours, which are expected to be at their heaviest today and tomorrow (Thursday).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe pack a brolly if you\u2019re in and around Gosford on Thursday because there is a high chance of rain with winds expected to be blowing anywhere from 15 to 25 km\/h on both days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As for the temperatures? Well, it\u2019s going to be cold with Gosford maxing out at 13 degrees tomorrow! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s a similar picture for The Entrance too with temperatures expected to peak 13 degrees on Thursday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
