Calling all coffee lovers, you\u2019ll soon be able to join your takeaway coffees without the eco-guilt because a brand new swap and go coffee cup scheme is launching on the Central Coast! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Central Coast Council has partnered with eco company Green Cafeen to launch a partnership which will bring swap-and-go reusable cups to local cafes at no charge with the new program launching tomorrow (Friday, June 18).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Green Caffen\u2019s co-founder Damien Clarke, says this scheme makes being eco-friendly easy and consumers don\u2019t have to worry about keeping a BYO cup on them all time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe designed Green Caffeen to be a complete no-brainer. For cafe owners, it\u2019s a sustainable business practice they can introduce and market themselves with that actually reduces overheads,\u201d Clarke said,\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
So, how does this work we hear you ask? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Well, all you need to do is scan your Green Cafeen Cup out before you takeaway and then scan it back in next time you\u2019re at any caf\u00e9 across the country when your back! (Pssst. If it\u2019s not returned in 30 days you will get charge \u2013 but you\u2019ll get reminded about that!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor their customers, it\u2019s like a free local library service \u2013 check a cup out and check it back in again later. Plus, you can have two cups out at once, so it doesn\u2019t matter if you forget your cup; you\u2019ve got another in the cloud,\u201d Clarke said.\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
The Central Coast is the ninth in the Council region in the Hunter and Central Coast region, with over 20 Central Coast cafes throughout the Central Coast already joining the scheme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
