It\u2019s the love story we didn\u2019t know we needed until now, which is why we\u2019re here with an update \u2013 Estrella the girlfriend of the Australian Reptile Park\u2019s Hugo the Galapagos Tortoise has touched down in Australia.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After years of searching for love, Hugo has finally found love with Estrella who officially arrived in Australia from Zoo Rostock in Germany.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Erstella safely reached Australian shores earlier this week and is now being held in a mandatory three-month quarantine at the Australian Reptile Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hugo the Galapagos Tortoise and his girlfriend will finally be allowed to meet in person (or in this case, in Tortoise) in mid-September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Daniel Rumsey, Head of Reptiles at the Australian Reptile Park said, \u201cI couldn\u2019t be more excited for Hugo! Estrella Is beautiful. We have always wanted to get Hugo a girlfriend to replace the \u2018special\u2019 rock he has in his enclosure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rumsey continued, \u201cHe\u2019s got a bit of an extra bounce in his step now and we\u2019re all counting down the days until the lovers can meet! Who knows, maybe within the next few years we will have some baby Galapagos tortoises!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hugo is one of the Australian Reptile Park\u2019s oldest residents and has called the Reptile Park home since 1963.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hugo is currently reached middle age at the ripe age of 70 is one of the Reptile Park\u2019s most popular animals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
