NSW COVID Update:<\/strong>\u00a0The state has recorded 31 new cases to 8pm last night, 13 of which were infectious while out in the community, premier\u00a0Gladys Berejiklian<\/a> has said. This was out of more than 76K tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gladys Berejiklian said these high numbers reflected activity just before lockdown \u2014 and they were expecting numbers to rise before falling next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis pretty much reflects the days before and just before we went into lockdown\u2026 we\u2019re anticipating that there could be an increase in numbers over the next few days and hopefully early next week we could see the numbers turning and the lockdown having an impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am relieved I have to say that the case numbers weren\u2019t as bad as they could have been. Often in other states in other jurisdictions in the world you have seen a doubling or tripling of cases which is what we were afraid of.<\/p>\n\n\n
