Lifeline Hunter Central Coast has urged residents right across the Central Coast not to suffer in silence and check in on each other as the lockdown continues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lifeline Regional Manager Julie Wicks says Lifeline is here for everybody, 24\/7. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms Wicks says the restrictions have no doubt left people feeling even more anxious and isolated than ever before or struggling with the consequent business and job impacts with Lifeline continuing to receive an increased volume of calls since the COVID crisis started in July. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPeople on the Central Coast are having to negotiate extended lockdowns and altered school arrangements, while people in the Hunter have restrictions and are worried about the possible virus spread and border closures,\u201d Ms Wicks said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn both regions, people are separated from families, and businesses in both regions have had reduced trade during what would have been a busy school holiday period,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms Wicks said sometimes having someone to talk to can make the world of difference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is understandable to feel worried or overwhelmed; just having someone listen can make a big difference. Lifeline is here to listen and to offer hope via 13 11 14, text, or online chat.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Face to face and video counsellor is another way Lifeline can help, with face counselling from Centres at Islington, Belmont, Raymond Terrace, Singleton and Wyoming, although Wyoming is currently offering video counselling only during the current Central Coast lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur qualified counsellors are there for anyone struggling with personal issues. The service is free, you don\u2019t need a referral, and we have available appointments,\u201d Ms Wicks said, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe can all get through this if we are kind to other and look out for each other.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
