Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch has confirmed lockdown on the Central Coast cannot be ended. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement shared on his Facebook page<\/a>, Adam Crouch said it was disappointing to be delivering the news.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI am disappointed to report this morning that the Central Coast\u2019s lockdown cannot be ended,\u201d Mr Crouch shared on his Facebook page, <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis is due to the unbelievable selfishness of approximately 150 local residents that attended the \u201canti lockdown\u201d protest in Sydney on Saturday. This is also due to the 5 new local cases announced last weekend.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n According to Mr Crouch, the health risk to the Central Coast community is just too high. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cUnfortunately the Health risk is just too high. To end the lockdown now would only speed up transmission of the Delta strain,\u201d Mr Crouch said, <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt will take a few days to see if any community transmission occurred at one of the 18 exposure sites on the Central Coast. Hundreds of people were unknowingly exposed to COVID-19 and are now being tested.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt will also take approximately 14 days to see what impact the \u201canti lockdown\u201d protest has on local case numbers,\u201d Mr Crouch explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Mr Crouch confirmed he has spoken to the Premier, who confirmed she will end the region\u2019s lockdown as soon as its safe to do so. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI spoke to the Premier yesterday and she will end the Central Coast\u2019s lockdown as soon as it is safe to do so,\u201d Mr Crouch said, <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIn the next day or two the Premier will release a \u201croad map\u201d, which shows what restrictions can be eased once the Health risk subsides.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mr Crouch thanked the thousands of Central Coast residents who have been following the rules so far. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThank you to everyone that has been following the stay-at-home rules so well. It is regrettable that a minority of people have wrecked our chances of ending the lockdown,\u201d Mr Crouch said, <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnd if you have any information about Saturday\u2019s protest, please anonymously provide it to Crime Stoppers. Even a photo or screenshot will help our Police detectives track down the protestors.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n No new local COVID-19 exposure sites have been confirmed overnight, but Central Coast Health confirmed they have extended the hours of operation at their Wyong Hospital COVID-19 testing clinic have been extended. <\/p>\n\n\n\n For today (July 27) and Wednesday, the clinic will operate from 7am-10pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Thursday (July 29), the Wyong Hospital Clinic will be open from 7am until 5pm, with the clinic returning to normal operating hours (9am-5pm) on Friday, July 30. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The testing clinic at Gosford Hospital will continue to operate from 9am-5pm daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Central Coast Health said no bookings are required to attend these testing clinics. Walk-ins are accepted seven days a week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n But they are warning that they are experiencing a high level of demand for our testing clinics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n They appreciate your patience as Central Coast Health staff work to keep our community safe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If you experience any COVID-19 symptoms, Central Coast Health is asking you come forward for testing immediately, even if you have been fully or partially vaccinated.
