Authorities have confirmed Lake Munmorah Public School and Morisset High School are closed to students after three students at both schools tested positive. The three students are believed to be siblings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One student tested positive at Morisset High School, whilst two students tested positive at Lake Munmorah Public School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lake Munmorah Public School principal Narelle Baldwin issued a statement on social media<\/a> late on Wednesday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe NSW Department of Education has been advised by NSW Health that two students at our school have tested positive for COVID-19,\u201d Baldwin said in a statement, Lake Munmorah Public School has been almost closed to all students due to the Central Coast lockdown over the past few weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Additionally, Morisset High School also closed after another student tested positive to COVID-19, according to Lake Macquarie MP Greg Piper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a statement, Mr Piper said the Department of Education told him the following in regards to Morisset High School: <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe NSW Department of Education has been advised by NSW Health that a student at our [Morisset High] school has tested positive for COVID-19.\u201d <\/p> \u201cOur school will be non-operational effective immediately for the on-site attendance of staff and visitors to allow time for contact tracing and cleaning.\u201d <\/p> \u201cAll staff and students are asked to self-isolate until you receive further advice. NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell or if you develop any symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell\/taste, muscle\/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea\/vomiting or extreme tiredness to be tested at one of the COVID-19 testing clinics.\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n In addition, a new local venue of concern has been identified with anyone who visited Target at Glendale between 8:30am and 1:30pm on Sunday, August 1 to immediately get tested and isolate as a staff member tested positive to the virus.
