We come bearing some good news for a change, with the Australian Reptile Park announcing the arrival of the first Koala Joey of the season and they\u2019ve shared some adorable<\/em> pictures with us! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Reptile Park has welcomed six new joey\u2019s as part of their conservation breeding program, with one already emerging from the pouch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tippi is the first of six joeys to emerge from her mother\u2019s pouch, with the seven-month-old joey undergoing her first health check this week! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Reptile Park, Tippi came in at 357 grams and is showing all the signs of great health with her eating leaf, showing incredible dexterity with her climbing and all her physical characteristics in top condition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tippi was so tiny she had to be weighed in a salad bowl, the adorable koala joey was offered a toy koala to cuddle during the weighing to mimic her mum \u201cTree\u201d to make the occasion as stress-free as possible \u2013 with some adorable results! Check out the pictures out: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That last one of Tippi really encapsulates our entire lockdown mood! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Australian Reptile Park Director Tim Faulkner said the park\u2019s breeding program has had another successful year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIs there anything cuter than koala joeys?! We are so pleased to announce that our breeding program had another successful year to help this threatened species. And what an important time for good news like this, both with COVID rearing its head again in Sydney and the species facing serious peril in the wild,\u201d Faulkner said.\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

For now, we\u2019ll just have to enjoy the cute snaps but the Reptile Park has said they will be re0ppening once the lockdown lifts! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
