It has been confirmed overnight that Gorokan High School will be closed today (Wednesday, August 28) for deep cleaning after a member of the school community returned a positive COVID-19 test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Parliamentary Sectary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal, Adam Crouch, the individual was infectious whilst on the school site last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Approximately 20 students and staff were on-site at the same time and have been asked to self-isolate until they receive further advice from NSW Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSW Health has immediately commenced contact tracing and the NSW Department of Education will only re-open the school when it is safe to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSW Health has requested that anyone who is unwell or has developed symptoms gets tested immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The closure of Gorokan High School comes as several new exposure sites across the Central Coast have been identified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyone who travelled on the following train service for more than 30 minutes or attended the following venue on the dates and times listed is a casual contact and must immediately get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Please get tested even if you have had a test in recent days and isolate until you receive a negative result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If your exposure at this venue was in the past four days, you must get another test on day five from the date of exposure. While waiting for another negative result, to this additional test, wear a mask around others and limit your movements. You should continue to monitor for symptoms and if any symptoms appear, get tested and isolate again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
