It has been confirmed that deep cleaning has been completed and Gorokan High School will be re-opened today after a member of the school community tested positive for COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The member of the school community testing positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, August 24 with the school closed for several days following the exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch confirmed the news and said the school has been thoroughly cleaned in accordance with strict NSW Health guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAny child who is unable to learn from home is welcome to return to the school grounds however online learning is still being strongly encouraged,\u201d Mr Crouch said,<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll students and staff identified as close contacts have been notified and directed to self-isolate for the required period,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cApproximately 20 students and staff were onsite at the same time as the person who returned a positive test,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI want to thank the Gorokan High School principal Matthew Boake as well as teachers, staff, students and families for their understanding and for ensuring all advice from NSW Health is followed,\u201d Mr Crouch said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
The latest developments at Gorokan High School comes as several Central Coast locations were identified as exposure sites yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyone who attended the following venues on the dates and times listed is a casual contact. Casual contacts must immediately get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result, even if they have had a test in recent days:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Saturday 14 August, 4:50pm to 5:10pm<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
- Coles, Lake Haven Centre (Lake Haven Drive, Lake Haven)

- Coles, Killarney Vale (cnr Wyong Rd and South St, Killarney Vale)
- Saturday 21 August, 6:20pm to 6:50pm<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
- Centre Food Court, Bateau Bay Square (12 Bay Village Rd, Bateau Bay)
- Sunday 22 August, 9:35am to 9:55am*<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
- The Bottle-O, Killarney Vale (120 Wyong Rd, Killarney Vale) o Sunday 22 August, 11:35am to 11:55am*<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
*If the day and time you visited is marked with an asterisk (*), it falls within the last four days. This means you must also get another test five days after you visited. Please wear a mask around others, limit your movements until you get another negative result, and get tested again if you develop any symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yesterday, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian also confirmed regional NSW<\/a> \u2013 including the Central Coast \u2013 will remain in lockdown for at least another two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms Berejiklian cited public health advice, saying the situation in the regional NSW including the Central West and Dubbo is still concerning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The same rules under the public health orders will apply until at least 11:59pm on September 10, in line with existing orders for the Greater Sydney area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSW Health has said everyone must stay at home unless they have a reasonable excuse to leave. They also cannot have visitors in their home from outside their household, including family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
