Get ready to be blown away because a $720 million redevelopment has been proposed for Lake Macquarie\u2019s Trinity Point and boy doesn\u2019t it look luxurious!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The proposed $720 million development could see a luxury 220 room hotel, restaurants, function centre and an infinity pool built on the Trinity Point site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the developers behind the project \u2013 The Johnson Property group \u2013 are proposing 218 waterfront apartments to also be built alongside the already established Trinity Point Marina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to developers, the proposed development would set an \u201carchitectural and sustainability benchmark for the region\u201d with the design intent to reflect the natural surrounding hills with sculptural, rolling roofs and facades designed by leading Australian firm Koichi Takada Architects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if that doesn\u2019t sound luxe (and eco-friendly) enough, the Trinity Point development will be highly sustainable, carbon-neutral and self-sufficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is proposed it will feature green roofs are covered with plants. According to the Johnson Property Group, this creates a cooling effect and coupled with layers of solar panels, will help generate the development\u2019s energy needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project could potentially inject more than $720 million into the local economy, with construction set to create more than 400 jobs, with a further 200 operational jobs to service the hotel and restaurant in the longer term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to The Newcastle Herald<\/a>, Managing Director Keith Johnson, of the Johnson Group said the proposed development would create a world-class tourism destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are excited to announce the third phase of our Trinity Point project, which will build on the success and popularity of the already established restaurant, marina and housing estate,\u201d Mr Johnson told The Newcastle Herald.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe luxury hotel and apartments will build on the current offering to create a true world-class tourism and holiday destination.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The project is still in the planning stage but according to the Johnson Property Group website, the project is classed as State Significant Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have applied to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment to request The Secretary\u2019s Environmental Assessment Requirements that will inform the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to The Newcastle Herald, the project\u2019s scoping report “will be considered by the NSW Department of Planning before a concept development application is lodged”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
