{"id":31024,"date":"2021-09-02T09:40:45","date_gmt":"2021-09-01T23:40:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/?p=31024"},"modified":"2021-09-02T09:40:48","modified_gmt":"2021-09-01T23:40:48","slug":"auspost-are-halting-parcel-pickups-from-online-retailers-for-3-days-cause-they-need-to-clear-a-massive-backlog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/home\/auspost-are-halting-parcel-pickups-from-online-retailers-for-3-days-cause-they-need-to-clear-a-massive-backlog\/","title":{"rendered":"AusPost Are Halting Parcel Pickups From Online Retailers For 3 Days \u2018Cause They Need To Clear A Massive Backlog"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If you\u2019re waiting for a parcel from AusPost, then you could be a waiting a little bit longer with the postal service confirming they will be pausing the pick-up of parcels from eCommerce retailers from Saturday for three days. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AusPost made the announcement yesterday, saying they will be temporarily pausing their Parcel Post collections from online retailers across NSW, Victoria, and the ACT from 7am on Saturday, September 4 until 7am, Tuesday, September 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The temporary pause is necessary to help clear the backlog of parcels in the system according to AusPost, who have said they are seeing the same volume as what they see at Christmas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe this is our sign to stop online shopping in lockdown\u2026. We joke, we joke but AusPost released a statement confirming only certain services would be impacted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOnly our standard Parcel Post service is impacted, with Express Post, Premium, Startrack Express and letters, to remain unchanged across our network.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere is no impact on Post Offices, which remain open for all usual business including collecting carded parcels.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cItems lodged at Post Offices and Standard Post Boxes will also continue to be collected for processing and collections in all other States remain the same.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDeliveries will continue across the weekend and parcel processing continues, as our people deliver record amounts of parcels to Australians.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AusPost apologised for the inconvenience by said the pause on pickups is necessary with 500 people in necessary self-isolation, placing increased pressure on the network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The postal service is also trying to manage flight restrictions and temporary facility closures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Listen via the Star 104.5 Player, download it now via the
