A GoFundMe has been launched for a family who lost everything at a fire in Blue Haven on Monday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) were called to a garage fire on Blueridge Drive, Blue Haven just before 8:30 pm on Monday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon arrival, crews found the fire had spread into the roof space of the single-level home. Working quickly, firefighters extinguished the blaze however the property sustained extensive damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unfortunately, the family of six \u2013 including 2 adults, a 16-year-old and 3 young grandchildren being cared for permanently \u2013 have lost everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the GoFundMe<\/a> launched for the family, they\u2019ve now lost everything only walking away with the clothes they were wearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The GoFundMe has a $30,000 target with organisers hoping to find the family a new home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFirst we are hoping to find this family a home to rent, which needs to be local for schooling ect. We are hoping someone may have a private rental or know someone who may have a rental property they could lease. Housing is at the top of our priority to ensure this family has a home,\u201d organiser Kim Wooden shared.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe secondly are asking for support with anything people are willing to help with such as donations for example, clothing, house furniture, or [gift] cards\/ cash donations. We also have a go fund me page if possible to make a donation to in order to get this family back on their feet again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDue to this families vulnerable state given the circumstances family and friends will be willing to collect or happy for people to drop off at Toukley or Wyongah to which they will be pass onto the family,\u201d the GoFundMe page states,<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe do ask if you have furniture items that you just let us know and also hold onto in the mean time so we can find a place to store until they get a home.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe thank you for this community support and we hope even if you are unable to donate that you can please share this and the go fund me page to support this local family doing it extremely tough.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the time of writing, $1,100 had been raised.
