A new public primary at Warnervale is just months away from completion, with construction currently powering along at Porters Creek Public School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new public primary school – named Porters Creek Public School – is located at 75 Warnervale Road, Warnervale and will be able to accommodate up to 460 students once it opens next year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
New facilities will include 20 air-conditioned learning spaces, administration and staff building, a hall plus a library, two special programs rooms, landscaped external play spaces and a mini sports field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the school facilities would be custom-built to accommodate future growth for the Warnervale area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPorters Creek Public School is being initially built for 460 students, but this can be expanded to 1,000 in the decades to come,\u201d Mr Crouch said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith 95,250 additional people expected to call our community home by 2041, we must ensure that our local infrastructure keeps up with this growth.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, construction has been slightly delayed due to the recent lockdown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUnfortunately some construction work was delayed during the recent lockdown, however I know the project team are working as hard as possible to get the school built before day one of the 2022 school year,” Mr Crouch said,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe current construction work is delivering 110 jobs to local tradesmen, with 10 percent of these being first or second year apprentices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Construction of the new school is part of a $16.1 million committed by the NSW Government in this year\u2019s Budget to complete the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
