Grab the kids and get ready for a good time \u2018cause a new district playspace at Gwandalan\u2019s Tunkuwallin Oval and boy, doesn\u2019t it look fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction of the brand new playground was completed in September, with the new district play designed for kids of all ages (even the big kids at heart).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tunkuwallin Oval playspace now features a bouldering structure, inclusive custom bead and rail activity, swings, plus an accessible carousel, timber play structure, nature play elements, fitness equipment, accessible paths, water refill station, shelter and picnic table and so much more. The Tunkuwallin Oval Playspace joins the recently opened Sun Valley Park at Green Point<\/a> with construction completed by Central Coast Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sun Valley Park has officially re-opened after a $1.3 million dollar redevelopment last month, with plenty of new features for the kids (and the big kids at heart) including basketball courts, a nature obstacle course and climbing nets for kids of all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fun doesn\u2019t stop there with swings, new shelters, picnic facilities, accessible amenities, an upgraded car park and so much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Council\u2019s Director Council Director Community and Recreation Services, Julie Vaughan said Council\u2019s playspaces have provided a positive outlet for children right across the Coast, particularly during this latest lockdown period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur public playspaces, outdoor fitness equipment and skate parks promote healthy living, active lifestyles and improve the quality of life for our community,\u201d said Ms Vaughan,<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor this reason we will continue to deliver public facilities, amenities, signage and playspaces in line with our annual Operational Plan and what our community has told us is important to them,\u201d Ms Vaughan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Council Administrator, Rik Hart said the completion of new or upgraded community assets is something that Council is striving to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe continued delivery of playspace infrastructure is a result of community feedback as part of Council\u2019s Central Coast Playspace Strategy and is important to ensure fit-for-purpose facilities that support the needs and growth of our community,\u201d Mr Hart said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
