While the rest of us have been busy lounging at the beach, local sculptor Pete Rush<\/a> has been hard at work crafting a brand new sculpture and trust us, you need to go and check it out ASAP!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pete has been hard at work over the past few weeks, constructing a beautiful Kangaroo on the grounds of Mingara Recreation Club, who commissioned the piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The piece is no match for your average-sized Kangaroo according to Pete, with the new piece standing at three times bigger than a normal Kangaroo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This one is made out of wood and \u201cslime weed\u201d from Wamberal Lagoon, which bleaches brown when the water level suddenly drops Pete said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Pete, this sculpture was inspired by \u201cthe 3 year old who, when lost in the bush overnight, asked a kangaroo for a ride home\u201d. Check it out:<\/p>\n\n\n
