Clubs NSW Central Coast and Star 104.5 are pleased to announce $80,000 has been raised for a brand new bus for Regional Youth Support Services (RYSS) to continue their work with disadvantaged Central Coast youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RYSS were chosen as the beneficiaries of the fundraiser, with one aim in mind a brand new, mid-size bus to replace the current one, which is over 31 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Late last year, Clubs NSW Central Coast and Star 104.5 teamed up to create the Itty Bitty Fundraiser with the fundraiser going on to raise $80,000 for the new bus which will see RYSS continue to deliver programs to disadvantaged youth across the region through the mobile centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These programs are a lifeline for many Central Coast youth, delivering programs designed to help the region’s youth when it comes to tackling cyberbullying, body image and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bus is often on the scene when anti\u2010social behaviour hotspots need to be targeted, isolated rural communities linked to services and support offered at youth festivals and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RYSS Bus also helps with Target Early Intervention across the region, providing one-on-one support, assessments, casework and referrals to services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RYSS CEO Km McLoughry welcomed the brand new bus, saying it will provide better support for youth and families across the Central Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt takes the services out to where the young people are in their communities and offers a network of local agencies to better support them and their families,\u201d Loughry said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt provides engagement and activities for young people by young people in their communities. Qualified Youth Caseworkers support all the bus activities, school visits and events.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RYYS has further plans this year with the bus, with the local organisation set to partner with a wide range of agencies to better support young people recover through the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organisation will also continue to advocate for the region\u2019s youth throughout 2022, with more events and activities locally to tackle hotspot issues proactively, including addressing youth homelessness and violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brand new RYSS Bus will be on show at the Central Coast Comicon on Saturday, March 28 at The Entertainment Grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
