Developers have lodged plans for a $30 million integrated allied health hub in the heart of Gosford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the proposal put forward by the Cornerstone Group, there will five levels plus a level of retail space on the ground floor with further room on the tope level for a seven, one and two bedroom specialist disability accommodation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also scope for the establishment of a day procedure unit, radiation oncology, medical oncology, fertility services provider and research suites. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cornerstone Group managing director Simon Heazlewood said research has shown the demand for these specialists would skyrocket on the Central Coast by 2040.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOver the next two decades it\u2019s predicted the region will require an increase of more than 350 per cent for medical oncologists, 83 per cent more paediatricians and an 84 per cent increase in the cardiologists required,\u201d Mr Heazlewood told the Central Coast Express Advocate<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese statistics are staggering and a real reason for concern for the local community. Our hope is that in building the Gosford Health Hub, we offer a state-of-the-art space to attract these specialists to the region to respond to this escalating demand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The proposed hub will be strategically position to create a thriving precinct. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Gosford Health Hub will be strategically positioned adjacent to the local hospital, and will create a thriving precinct to expand the region\u2019s health service offering and attract the relocation of key health-related services in the area,\u201d Mr Heazlewood said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Heazlewood said\u00a0there would be multiple services accessible at the proposed facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe expect the hub will include primary, secondary and tertiary health services including GP practices, diagnostic imaging, pharmacies and specialist and allied health consulting rooms,\u201d Mr Heazlewood<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If approved, up to 150 jobs will be created during construction and 200 jobs will be created once the health hub opens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis will be a great outcome for the local community, not only drastically increasing and improving the health services on offer in Gosford, but also in creating jobs for the local economy,\u201d Mr Heazlewood said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cornerstone Group hopes to have approval for the Gosford Health Hub from Central Coast Council by mid-2022, which will see construction commencing by the end of 2022, with an estimated completion date of early 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
