Australian tennis player Ash Barty has announced her shock retirement from the sport at the age of 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barty announced the shock news in an emotional interview with friend and former international tennis player Casey Dellacqua on her Instagram<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ll be retiring from tennis. It\u2019s the first time I\u2019ve said it out loud, and it\u2019s hard to say. But I\u2019m so happy and I\u2019m so ready. I just know at the moment in my heart for me as a person this is right,\u201d Barty told Dellacqua in the interview.<\/p>\n\n\n
