Rock asked the audience how their weekend was, drawing a wave of laughter from the audience before going on to say he doesn\u2019t have a lot to say about what happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t have a bunch of s**t about what happened, so if you came to hear that, I have a whole show I wrote before this weekend,\u201d Rock told the audience.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Rock said he\u2019ll talk about the incident in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m still kind of processing what happened. So, at some point I\u2019ll talk about that s**t. And it will be serious and funny.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Actor Will Smith slapped Rock on stage at the 94th Academy Awards after Rock made a joke about Smith\u2019s wife Jada Pinkett Smith starring in G.I. Jane in reference to her bald hair due to condition alopecia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Smith apologised to Rock in an Instagram post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cViolence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night\u2019s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada\u2019s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally,\u201d Smith wrote.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Smith also issued an apology to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Williams family and his King Richard, film family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.
