It\u2019s official: The annual whale migration up the Coast has begun, putting the Central Coast right in the middle of the spectacular humpback highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Central Coast is one of the best spots to grab a snap of the whales with fantastic lookouts and vantage points across the region to view the spectacular display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approximately 25,000 whales migrate north every year from May to November from Antarctica towards the warmer waters where they\u2019ll breed their calves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experts recommend that an early start is ideal to spot a whale as the sea is more likely calmer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early morning also makes it easier to see the whale\u2019s tell-tale tail, or \u2018blow\u2019 against a flatter ocean. But remember you will be looking directly into the sun so don\u2019t forget to pack your sunnies!<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Norah Head Lighthouse:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This Central Coast icon offers a stunning vista across the Pacific Ocean, making it the perfect vantage point for whale watching during migration season. Being one of the most Eastern points on the Central Coast, you can really get up close and personal with these majestic giants of the sea with just a short walk through the bush to the lighthouse, before heading down the stairs to the rock shelf for the best vantage point for whales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
