Calling all book lovers, because the Central Coast\u2019s favourite literary festival is returning to the Peninsula this weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the success of the inaugural festival, Words on the Waves is returning to Umina Beach and Ocean Beach from this Friday, June 3 to Sunday, June 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival is set to host some of Australia\u2019s most highly regarded writers, thinkers, and artists as they tackle some of the big issues of today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival is set to be situated primarily across two venues \u2013 Umina Beach Surf Lifesaving Club and Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club, making a stroll along the beach in the morning sun possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All three days are action-packed with Saturday highlights including panels with Australian guests and authors \u2013 including Charlotte Wood, Thomas Mayor, Favel Parrett, Hannah Kent, Sofie Laguna and Kate Forsyth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, Debra Keenahan, Jessica Walton, Heidi Everett, and Member for Gosford Liesl Tesch will come together to explore representation in arts, and the importance of ‘own voices’ for artists with disability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fun goes stop there with Words on the Waves patron Central Coast local, Margaret Pomeranz, who will host an evening of conversation with screenwriter and novelist Luke Davies, alongside a movie screening of Candy<\/em> on Saturday, June 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is even something for the littlest members of the family, with a Family Fun Day featuring roaming circus entertainers, face painting and storytelling with authors of the beloved Bin Chicken books, Kate and Jol Temple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
