Drivers around NSW are being urged to head to the pump early to avoid being hit, with already high petrol prices expected to skyrocket in the lead up to school holidays.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Experts are predicting that New South Wales petrol prices could hit $1.66 per litre by the start of the school holiday period this weekend.<\/p>\n

\u00a0The predictions come after prices rose sharply to $167.9 in Victoria and Queensland prior to school holidays kicking off last week.<\/p>\n

NRMA\u2019s Peter Khoury told News Corp that petrol prices in other states had set a benchmark mark for NSW, and warned that prices in Sydney and wider NSW will get \u201cpretty close\u201d to $1.66 per litre.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou only need to look at Adelaide and Melbourne, where it did get to $1.66, to get an indication of how high we hope the capital cities will get,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n

The current NSW average price is sitting at $1.39 per litre, but is expected to start rising in coming days.<\/p>\n
