Four local Central Coast athletes are set to represent Australia in swimming, athletics and hockey at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham later this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tokyo Olympic silver medallist Nicola Olyslagers<\/a> will represent Australia in the women’s high jump at the Birmingham Games, looking to add to her medal collection after winning the bronze on her debut at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olyslagers became the first ever Australian woman to clear 2.00 metres in the women’s high jump and recently finished 9th at the Athletic World Championships in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nicola will be joined in the athletics contingent by Charlie Hunter, who recently broke two Australian indoor records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hunter broke the 800m and the mile record, clocking stunning times of 1:45.59 and 3:53.49 and will contest the 800m at the Commonwealth Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew Dawson will play a key role in the gold medal-winning Australian Kookaburra\u2019s men\u2019s hockey team, who took gold in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n
