Seeing Eye Dogs<\/a> will be establishing a dog training program on the Central Coast<\/a> in early 2023, which will see volunteers play a vital role in raising a dog to support people who are blind or have low vision to live active and independent lives.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being a Seeing Eye Dog carer through the program will involve having an adorable doggo in your home on afternoons and weekends as well as some weekdays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Seeing Eye Dog instructor will come and collect the dog from you 2-5 days a week before dropping them home to you in the afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program is a twelve month commitment with successful volunteers receiving initial training on what is involved in caring for a seeing eye dog along with ongoing training and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeing Eye Dogs will also cover all food and vet bills, with successful volunteers looking at potentially seeing 2-3 dogs placed with them over 12 months from 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeing Eye Dogs are seeking a volunteer base that reflects their client base so everyone from people living on a property, in apartments, have other dogs and kids or live by themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
