The final concept design for the multi-million Central Coast Quarter has been selected following a design competition by the developer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DKO and Furtado Sullivan took out the top gong in a competition run by developer St Hilliers for their design of the mixed-use precinct, which is set to be located in the heart of Gosford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per Architecture AU<\/a>, the successful concept will see two towers set \u201calongside a central pavilion that will activate the area with retail and hospitality venues.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The south tower is set to be home to approximately 100 apartments with water views and \u201cscalloped balconies\u201d to complement its coastal setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the eastern tower is set to consist of 18 stories of commercial floors set above a terrace space for the public \u201cdesigned to offer a flexible and accessible space designed to maximise liveability, work and leisure\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public space is set to feature both retail and commercial spaces, which will be connected via laneways from Baker Street to Mann Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designers have also included an outdoor dining and function space within the public pavilion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A panel of independent judges praised DKO and Furtado Sullivan\u2019s designs for their \u201celegance\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DKO Director Nicholas Bryne said the design would create a unique place for Gosford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis was a huge opportunity for the practice to work on a large-scale, multi-staged development in the rapidly growing Central Coast region,\u201d Byrne said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe hope the series of buildings and spaces in the precinct will create a unique place for the City of Gosford, reflecting the broader landscape and respecting Country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Central Coast Quarter received concept approval in August 2020 for the development, with the latest designs set to be worked into a development application to be lodged before the end of the year per the Central Coast Express Advocate<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
