The Central Coast community is being invited to to continue to have their say on the $687 million plan to revitalise the Gosford waterfront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Central Coast Council is inviting the community to shape the future of the Gosford waterfront, which is set to boost liveability and economic growth across the entire region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Council recently moved to adopt a concept plan which will see the waterfront completely transformed in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the proposed plan, the Gosford waterfront could see the construction of a ferry terminal, marina and hotel on the waterfront between the Gosford Sailing Club and Central Coast Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the proposed plan pitched to Central Coast Council, the Gosford Olympic Pool will also be redeveloped, and an amphitheatre will be built along the waterfront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children won\u2019t miss out with a water playground and other recreation facilities \u2013 including a bike track from Gosford to Woy Woy \u2013 also pitched in the draft vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Council has worked with key stakeholders to develop the concept plan including the Darkinjung Aboriginal Land Council, Greater Cities Commission, Crown Lands, TAFE and The University of Newcastle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Council also integrated existing research and information collected through various projects including the Gosford Challenge, Gosford Our City, Our Destiny Masterplan and Gosford Urban Design Framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Community consultation opened on October 18 and already the message from the community is clear: the time is right to connect the Gosford CBD to an activated waterfront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Central Coast Council Administrator Rik Hart said in a statement there is a growing appetite to see Gosford turn into an iconic waterfront city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere is a growing appetite to see Gosford reach its potential by connecting the waterfront to the city, activating the city\u2019s education and health opportunities and amenities, and creating a place for people on the Central Coast.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis major revitalisation project will boost jobs and economic growth across the Central Coast and the community\u2019s feedback is vital to ensure the best possible outcome for everyone is achieved from this long-term project,\u201d Mr Hart said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Central Coast Council says residents can help shape the future of the waterfront by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
