Holiday road trips are about to be altered forever because McDonald\u2019s is gearing up to leave the twin servos on the M1 Pacific Motorway at Wyong<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2GB\u2019s Chris O\u2019Keefe<\/a> first reported the news in a now viral TikTok<\/a>, confirming Macca\u2019s will be closing down and leaving the twin servos at \u201cthe end of July\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ampol has since confirmed the departure and\u2026 the arrival of a rival to the iconic golden arches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmpol will soon commence upgrades at its two service centres on the M1 at Wyong to improve customer amenity,\u201d Ampol said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe refreshed sites will include AmpCharge EV charging bays, along with a new convenience offer, including Ampol Foodary, Hungry Jack\u2019s, Oliver\u2019s and other quick service restaurants on both sides of the highway.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s truly the end of an era. Road trips have been fundamentally altered forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyperbole aside, all is not lost with O\u2019Keefe reporting that Macca\u2019s is scoping the area to see if they can “establish their own restaurant a bit further up past Morisset on the M1.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
