The countdown is well and truly on!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Excitement is building right across the Central Coast as we prepare to welcome the German and English Women\u2019s National Team ahead of kick-off in the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come July, the Central Coast<\/a> will be rolling out the red carpet to welcome to German National Team to the region as they prepare to call the Central Coast Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex at Tuggerah home. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The English Women\u2019s team will also call the Central Coast home for the duration of the tournament, setting up their base at Industree Group Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industree Group Stadium will revert back to its generic name of Central Coast Stadium for the duration of the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2023 under FIFA regulations. No word yet on the status of the famous sauce bottles during this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both nations have sent delegations to the Central Coast ahead of the commencement of the World Cup with the teams expected to arrive mid-July ahead of the start of the Women\u2019s World Cup on Thursday, July 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Central Coast Council\u2019s Director Community and Recreation Services Melanie Smith said that the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup\u2122 would bring international attention to the Central Coast.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Central Coast Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex and Central Coast Stadium are both strong community assets and it\u2019s great that international sporting bodies are taking note,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smith said facility staff right across the region are hard at work ensuring the facilities are at their best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe closer we get to the tournament the more real it becomes and it\u2019s great for not only the facilities but also the staff who work there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cOur groundskeepers are getting a PHD in how to grow a suitable surface and everyone across the community is really starting to get excited,\u201d said Smith.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Germany will have exclusive access to the Central Coast Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex while the England Lionesses will be based at Central Coast Stadium from 1 July \u2013 20 August 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2023 will feature 32 teams competing in 64 matches across Australia and New Zealand during July and August 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
