The Central Coast Mariners have gone and broken not one, but two world records overnight in celebration of the FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 1000 people turned out to Central Coast Sports College overnight to take part in the challenge, smashing the record for the most amount of penalty kicks taken by females in one hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

691 people participated in the attempt, smashing the previous record of 634 penalty kicks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Central Coast Mariners also smashed another record, breaking the record for the most people taking a penalty in one hour by 776.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Central Coast Mariners held the world record attempt in celebration of the 2023 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are roughly 3,500 female footballers on the\u00a0Central Coast<\/a>\u00a0with countless more women supporting them through transport, coaching, admin, and many other roles with the night demonstrating the power of unity and determination as they aim to make history during the FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FIFA World Cup celebrations are set to continue with the Central Coast Mariners set to host a live site as the Matilda\u2019s take on France in the quarter finals in Brisbane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drifter\u2019s Wharf is the place to be on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 4:30pm with the game set to be broadcast on the big screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
