Local dessert purveyor Sara Lee<\/a> will continue to reign supreme in the freezer aisle after being saved by an Australian confectionery investor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beloved brand \u2013 known best for their fine cheesecakes, crumbles and ice cream \u2013 has been brought by Australian\u2019s Klark and Brooke Quinn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Administrator Vaughn Strawbridge from FTI Consulting confirmed the news, saying the sale of the business has saved more than 200 Lisarow-based jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStaff and consumers have rallied behind the business during this tough time, and we are so grateful to the loyal workforce and management team who have made this process a success while they have continued to produce amazing products,\u201d Mr Strawbridge said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have enjoyed working with the Sara Lee team and are pleased to see them come through this process. Many staff have been with Sara Lee a long time and we have seen their passion for the business.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement, the Quinn family said they couldn\u2019t be happier to put their stamp on the iconic local brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are a small Aussie family that shared in the tradition of having Sara Lee apple pie and vanilla ice cream every Sunday night at the dinner table and could not be more proud to put the Aussie-made and owned stamp on the Sara Lee brand,\u201d the Quinn Family said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The complete sale is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.As per the <\/em>ABC<\/a>,<\/em> the Quinn family has previously led confectionary giant Darrell Lea out of voluntary administration, turning the brand around before selling it on for $200 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
