Calling all Wicked<\/em> fans! Get ready to sing \u2018Defying Gravity\u2019 at the top of your lungs \u2018cause part one of the long-awaited adaptation will be released early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ICYMI: The new movie is an adaptation of the popular 2003 Broadway musical Wicked<\/em> \u2013 a production which is in turn, an adaptation of Gregory Maguire\u2019s novel of the same name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first part of the movie Wicked<\/em> was originally due to hit cinemas\u00a0on November 27, 2024, but in some good news for fans, the release has been brought forward a few days to November 22, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part two of the blockbuster musical franchise is still expected to land in cinemas just over a year later on November 26, 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t worry if you can\u2019t wait that long for a look at Wicked<\/em> because we were recently granted our first look at singer Ariana Grande<\/a> as Glinda and actress Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the trailer, we see the unlikely friendship of Glinda and Elphaba form at Shiz University, before an encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz leads them down different paths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
