{"id":707,"date":"2019-07-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-07-01T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/uncategorized\/water-warning-ten-central-coast-suburbs\/"},"modified":"2019-07-02T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2019-07-01T14:00:00","slug":"water-warning-ten-central-coast-suburbs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/lifestyle\/water-warning-ten-central-coast-suburbs\/","title":{"rendered":"Water warning for ten Central Coast suburbs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/photo-1495647688236-ed6ef40cb28b.jpeg\" alt=\"tilt shift lens photography of black steel faucet\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Residents in these suburbs could experience brown water.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ten suburbs on the Central Coast have been warned of discoloured water as the council continues their water mains cleaning program over the next two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The program, which is scheduled to run until 15th July, sees water mains in selected areas cleaned to ensure regular water supply is not affected.<\/p>\n<p>In the midst of looming water restriction in the region, Central Coast Council has introduced a new water-saving cleaning technique that will reduce the disruption to water supply.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are using a new technology that treats and then recycles the treated water back into the mains, ensuring minimal water is wasted during the process \u2014 something that is essential as we head closer to the introduction of Level 1 water restrictions for the region,\u201d Central Coast Council Director Jamie Loader stated.<\/p>\n<p>The downside? Residents in the areas covered under the program could experience brown water, a chemical odour, or a drop-in water pressure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWork will start every day until 16 July, typically between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
