The funding for the development was confirmed in 2019-2020 budget.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Gosford is set to get a facelift in the next twelve months with the development of a large play area confirmed on Gosford Waterfront in the 2019-2010 NSW state budget.<\/p>\n

In the budget, $8.6 million has officially been allocated to build a \u201cimmersive play space\u201d on the land near Leagues Club Field near the Central Coast Leagues Club.<\/p>\n

The play space designs were created in collaboration with the Local Aboriginal Land Council, and show the area transformed into a natural bushland setting with plenty play areas and water passages that will also act as splash pools for young children.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Minister for Planning and Housing Anthony Roberts revealed the deigns to the public in February of this year, and stated that the transformation would see the now-empty land become a \u201cnature-inspired place with water play and sensory experiences for all ages.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cThere\u2019s a strong focus on \u2018wild play\u2019 areas, where kids can splash around, get their hands dirty and explore a natural bushland setting,\u201d he said in a statement in February.<\/p>\n

\"Leagues<\/p>\n

The designs were influenced heavily by feedback from a community survey completed last year, with Robert\u2019s confirming that many of the features were asked for by the people of the Central Coast.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe detailed design will include things that the community told us they wanted to see, including dozens of new trees, open green space for people to continue to play footy or other casual spots, walkways, picnic areas, toilet amenities and lighting.\u201d<\/p>\n

There is currently no word on when construction of the play space will begin.<\/p>\n
