{"id":909,"date":"2019-04-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-04-10T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/uncategorized\/nestle-announce-new-milo-recipe-after-backlash\/"},"modified":"2019-04-11T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2019-04-10T14:00:00","slug":"nestle-announce-new-milo-recipe-after-backlash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/lifestyle\/nestle-announce-new-milo-recipe-after-backlash\/","title":{"rendered":"Nestle announce new Milo recipe after backlash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.star1045.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/2019-04-11_11_31_36-youve_been_drinking_milo_wrong_your_whole_life_nova_969.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>It comes after customers complained back in 2018.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s an iconic Australia brand that can be found in glasses, mugs, and on ice-cream all over the country.<\/p>\n<p>However, the much-loved malt drink Milo will soon be evolving due to customer pressure and recent backlash over health ratings.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Nestle Australia announced a major change to their original recipe, launching a new low-sugar version of Milo with 30% less added sugar than the original product.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.arn.com.au\/media\/8355474\/milo-1.jpg?width=409&#038;height=304\" alt=\"undefined\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to Nestle spokeswoman Margaret Stuart, the new Milo, which is set to land on Aussie shelves in May of this year, will not taste any different to the original product.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we were working on developing Milo 30% less added sugar, our focus was on creating a product that looks like original Milo, tastes like original Milo, and behaves like original Milo \u2013 crunchy bits and all,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The introduction of low-sugar Milo comes after Nestle received major backlash from consumers about its \u2018misleading\u2019 health rating, with its 4.5 out of 5 stars score being based on an unrealistic serving size.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2018-03-01\/milos-4.5-health-star-rating-stripped-away-by-nestle\/9496890\">ABC News<\/a>, Nestle\u2019s health star rating was based off people consuming just three teaspoons of the product in 250ml of skim milk.
